Iceland weather March 2012 was unusually warm although it was not the warmest. The record is from March 1929 in Akureyri. At that time temperature reached 5°C but now it was just over 3°C. Average temperature 1929 in Reykjavik was 5.9°C but now it was 2.9°C.

Icelandic Meteorological Office has also confirmed that highest temperature ever recorded in March in Iceland reached  20.5°C (68.9°F) at the farm Kvísker in Öræfi, southeast Iceland, on  March 29 2012.
